Learn the Facts About ICAN 2023
Established in 1965, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) is Nigeria’s premier accounting organization.
Its original purpose was to establish and keep a registry of associates, fellows, and accountants, as well as to determine what knowledge and skills are necessary for anyone to become an accountant.
ICAN has expanded over the years to become a sizable network of certified accountants, with over 38,000 members working in a wide variety of industries.
ICAN provides two distinct types of certification examinations, namely:
Professional certification exams are designed for those who have already earned a bachelor’s degree or a Higher National Diploma in a relevant field.

The Need for ICAN Requirements
The following minimum entry requirements are accepted by the Council for the various exams and must be met in order to register with ICAN:
This Course Is Intended For Graduate And Postgraduate
To obtain a degree from a University or a Higher National Diploma from a Polytechnic recognized by the Council.
2. Currently accepted qualifications as determined by the Council.
One must have earned at least five (5) credit passes in any subject, including English Language and Mathematics, on the West Africa School Certificate Examination, the General Certificate of Education, the Senior School Certificate of Education, the NECO equivalent in no more than two (2) sittings, or the National Examination Board of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NABTEB).
An Ordinary National Diploma from a Polytechnvc approved by the Institute’s Council
Three, a National Certificate of Education (NCE) from an accredited school of teaching.Ican
How To Sign Up For ICAN
Pay Direct the 7,000 (not including charges) required to register for the professional examination at any commercial bank in Nigeria. It’s also possible to make a purchase via the ICAN website.
Follow the link on your receipt to register at the designated website after making the appropriate payment.

Gather a passport-sized color photo of yourself.
Scan it and include it in your application. Please sign and print the completed application.
Locate a sponsoring/refereeing chartered accountant and supply their name, membership number, and phone number.
Bring your application in for certification to your sponsor/referee. You’ll need to pay 23,500 for induction/conference and include a receipt in your application if you plan to use your AAT scores to gain admission.
You should also include the original PIN voucher, the original Pay Direct receipt, and two certified photocopies of your passport with your application.
